why we do it

Resolve is a social enterprise. We support globally-significant, locally-led solutions in the Indo-Pacific. Most of our partners pay us for our support, but profit is not our raison d'être and we support many local NGOs and civil society organisations at no cost. Our organisation and those who work for us are driven by simple values - authenticity, integrity and purpose. 

We believe in three fundamental truths:

We are in a generational struggle. The forces of autocracy in the Indo-Pacific region are pressing hard against the democratic norms established in some parts of the region, and the progress made in other parts. This region accounts for more than half of the world's people, nearly two-thirds of the world's economy and future economic growth, and seven of the world's largest militaries. We must get this right - for the citizens of the region, and the security and prosperity of the wider world.

Human security is....

safe people, more secure region, more prosperity for people and world, etc

we can't work on everything, but we can work on something. our 'something' is political security

Human security means protecting fundamental freedoms - freedoms that are the essence of life. It means protecting people  from critical (severe) and pervasive (widespread) threats and  situations". Human security integrates three freedoms: freedom from  fear, freedom from want and the freedom from indignity. 

lots of experience - donors/govts/local insts often talking past each other...we operate as the interface between western donors and agencies and local people/instos. we are from this region, but know how to navigate both...we help both sides...with the goal of advancing democracy and enhancing human security with everything we do...collaboration...
